Sledding down the driveway!

Sean enjoyed his second trip out in the snow much better. We cleared a path down the driveway and went sledding. I wish I had the video to show you because the pictures don't do his girly "AHHHHHHH" scream justice. Mommy screamed a little herself when we got going too fast.
Ready to go!
Too deep to walk alone!
Wheeee!
Mommy's turn.
We both screamed!

Brock-ee

As you all know, Sean is a rather picky eater although veggies have always been something he likes. He won't eat the normal kids stuff like hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc. Tonight he decided to make his own creation. Sean loves broccoli and he loves bread so he decided to put them together!

Yay, Snow!!

It started snowing early this morning and has been snowing all day. We aren't sure how much snow we have but Dan measured over 10 inches on the back deck. We ventured out for a bit this afternoon, although, I have to say that it took us longer to get dressed than the time we spent outside playing. Sean got to use to his new sled and seemed to enjoy it. It was really cold though and the snow was coming down pretty fast. Here are the pictures from trip outside #1.

Let is Snow, Let it Snow, Let is Snow!

The weather forecast is predicting 6-10 inches of snow here in Richmond, starting tonight. We are very excited for snow, as usual. Sean has a brand new sled waiting to be used and a snow suite to keep him warm. Since Sean has been born we have been lucky with several snow storms. One, in March of 2009 brought us 6 inches or so. In December of 2009, we had over 13 inches. Here are some pics of Sean from the last two snow storms. More pics to come of snow...we hope!!!

March 2009 Sean is 10 months and really is not enjoying the snow!

Here we try the sled out, but what you don't see is how he face plants into the snow about 2 seconds later. Again, not a huge fan of sledding at this point.

This is from December 2009. He asks to go "side" (outside) and enjoys playing as long as he isn't put down alone into the snow. We are making progress.

He is smiling, sort of enjoying the snow. He even enjoyed sliding down a small hill.

This is at Nana and Poppi's house and he obviously enjoyed sledding. He has a brand new sled to try out tomorrow. I am sure mommy and daddy will be trying out the new sled as well!

The terrible two's already?

The last few days have been kind of rough for Sean. Since we were all sick, he hasn't been eating well at all and is just generally been very whiny and quick to get upset. Wednesday morning he woke up at 5 am and proceeded to scream for an hour, yelling, "eat", and, "stairs". We took him down stairs and then he was still not happy and wouldn't eat his breakfast. His latest trick is telling us to "tose" (close) the computer while we are on it because he is demanding our attention. It was cute at first....His reaction is so dramatic to any situation where he does not get exactly what he wants. So, if we don't immediately close the computer he has a fit!

He does generally respond well to time out and he doesn't often get to that point for not listening it is just his over dramatic reactions to simple events that set him into a downward spiral. Maybe he is just not feeling 100% well yet. Or, I could just blame it on the usual culprit his teeth. Who knows when those last four will come through. Either way, I fear the attitude we are seeing is just a preview of what is to come. It is a good thing he is so stinking cute!
P.S. I know you are all thinking "wonder where he got his attitude from?"

Wow, is all I have to say

The past few days can only be described that way. First, Sean comes down with the stomach flu. He starts to show improvement and then it is my turn. I am still flat on my back and Sean gets worse and Dan comes down with it. I have never cleaned up so much puke/poop (Sean's not Dan's, ha ha) in my life. Today, when all three of us should be on the mend, finally, Sean has a huge diaper blow out and pukes all over the floor. Wow...I didn't know it could get worse. I guess I heard the stories of how bad it is when you are sick and your child is sick at the same time, but now I believe them. It is hard! I have never seen Cars the movie so much in my life. That is all Sean wants to do, watch "CA CHOW", which is what he calls Cars, because Lightening says that often. The poor kid hasn't eaten since Wednesday. Dan and I just got down our first meal in days so I think we are all heading on the right track, lets hope. It has just been a rough couple days for all of us. Ok, enough of the complaining. The next time you hear from me, it'll be on a happier note :o)

Mommy McPukerson

I think that is all I need to say. Please check back for another post in the near future labeled: "Daddy McPukerson".

Pukey McPukerson

Sean and I went to the gym yesterday afternoon for my weekly weight lifting class. Before I dropped him off he seemed awfully clingy and whiny. I thought he was just tired and needed a change of scenery. Last week, he didn't want to leave the gym kid zone so I know he likes it. When I dropped him off he cried and cried. I hoped he'd stop and just left him to go to class (he always cries a little when I drop him off). About halfway through class, the kidzone worker comes into my class and has the instructor ask to see "Sean's Mom", oops, that is me. Sean had puked all over the place and they needed me to come and get him. Wow, bad mommy award goes to me! Poor guy. He has never thrown up before until now so I am sure he was scared. So, I got him changed and brought him home. He puked in the car on the way home and was so upset about it. Again, upstairs in my bed all over the place, downstairs on the couch, and again a few times into a bowl when we finally got him to do that. We have done several loads of laundry to keep up. Last night he asked to go to bed around 7:45 and he slept in the pack n play in our room. I was watching T.V and he still fell right asleep and slept through with no issues. Currently, he is snuggled on the couch drinking water and watching the "piggy", otherwise known as Charlottes Web. He seems to be doing a lot better and had some cheerios a while ago. I hope they don't make a reappearance! Are Dan and I next? I hope not!!

"Mees"

Sean's vocabulary is growing faster than I can post about on my blog! Everyday I hear him say a new word, in context, that I don't particularly remember teaching him! This weekend while reading a book with Grama, he pointed at a giraffe and said, "tall". I was impressed. I am continually impressed with his memory as well. He has over the past few months given several family members specific match box cars to call their "own". He also has one of his own that he has been playing with since the summer (it actually is one of Dan's cars from when he was a child). I have a car, daddy has a car, even grama, poppy, nana, poppy, aunt Anne all have cars. The amazing thing is that he remembers which car is each person's. If you line them all up and ask him to point to each one he will show you which car is poppy's or aunt Anne's. My favorite is what he calls his own car....."mees". While he has several new vocabulary words each day "mine" isn't one of them! If he sees anything of his, he'll say, "mees". I think it is so cute and I am sure in a week or so he'll grow out of it. But, until then, I am enjoying it!

Sean's Fun Day

Since we had the day off on Monday, we decided to go have some fun with Sean. So, we took him to the pool to go swimming and to play at the mall. He hadn't been to the pool in quite some time so, in typical Sean fashion, he was very shy at first. But, after a few minutes, he was jumping in off the side! Dan constantly puts a basketball in his hand and I put him in the pool. Hmm..are we trying to influence him into our own respective sports? Maybe....we'll see what he chooses? When we got to the mall play center he jumped right in and joined in on the fun. He climbed up on top by himself and went down the slide without a second thought. He had a great time!

'Nama and Poppy Visit!

Grama and Grampa came to visit this weekend and Sean had a lot of fun playing with them! Here are some of the pictures from their time together.

Reading a story together.

It feels like summer!

We have had quite a deep freeze over the past month and yesterday it was finally warm! It got up to 63 so Sean and I decided to play outside for a bit. Here are some of the pics.

Dine-a-sore

Last night after Sean's bath I took him in his room to get his PJ's on, which he usually refers to as "pee jees". I opened the drawer and he repeated the same thing over and over, "dine-a-sore". He must have said it 10 times but I had no idea what he was saying at the time. So, I took out some monkey PJ's and got him dressed. After that, he said, "book", so we read several stories in the glider. He looked down on the floor and saw a tiny little book about Dinosaurs and said the same thing over and over "dine-a-sore". Dan said, "do you want to read the book about dinosaurs?" He shook his head. I then realized at that moment he was asking to wear his dinosaur PJ's earlier. DUH Mommy!!

Daddy, too?

A couple nights ago I made cookies (not from scratch who am I kidding?) and Dan of course asked Sean if he wanted one after dinner. So, I got up to go get Sean a cookie and said "cookie, please" hoping Sean would repeat me. He did say, "cookie, please" but then added, "daddy, too?". So.....I brought them both a cookie.

Then today, we were rushing out the door at 7 am doing our daily goodbyes in the 20 degree weather. I gave Sean a kiss goodbye and he says, "daddy, too?". What a cutie. He is really looking out for his daddy!!

Open mouthed kisses....

Here is a pic from last night when Sean gave me the "I-love-you-so-much-I-am-going-to-eat-your-face" kind of kiss! So cute! P.S. We are working on "closed" mouth kisses!

Ready....set..."DOOOOO"!

To say that Sean likes trucks is a bit of an understatement. He LOVES anything with wheels. Last night, he drove his dump truck (with other trucks in the back of it) around the house rather quickly. Here he is from start to finish. He knows how to drive his trucks! He even has special trucks for several people. Daddy has always had a special truck and he always gives it to Dan to play with. I have a very nice sports car (corvette) but sometimes Dan tries to persuade Sean into choosing a cheap version of my corvette for me instead. I set him straight though. I like the fast car! But--no one is better at playing trucks with Sean than Daddy!!

Soo....cool.

Sean likes to "borrow" mommy and daddy's things. Here he is wearing my sunglasses and again wearing my scarf.
