Easter Egg Hunt and Petting Zoo

Each year at our church there is an Easter Festival on Palm Sunday. Last year, Sean was more fascinated with taking the eggs out of the basket than he was putting them in. This year, there was no stopping him. He even had a hard time waiting for the hunt to begin and started a little before the others. He also enjoyed the petting zoo and finally warmed up the animals. I think the bunny was his favorite (maybe because it was in a cage?!). He petted most of the animals and had a great time being outside on a beautiful day.

'Nama and Hanti Visited

Sean was lucky to have two special visitors this weekend, his 'Nama (Grama) and Hanti (Auntie Jenn). He got to spend the whole day playing with them on Friday and part of Saturday while Dan and I were at work and running the 10K. He had a lot of fun because we had a busy weekend!

Playing on the floor with 'Nama.

The new animals that 'Nama brought me. They are fun!

Auntie is a good artist! She drew a "tar" (car).

'Name taught Sean how to put sidewalk chalk on his face. 'Nama is always teaching Sean new "tricks" (thanks 'Nama...)

Swinging in the backyard. What a fun weekend!

Mommy Run Fast

Earlier today, Dan and I ran the Monument Ave 10K. It is a huge race in Richmond and both of us had a great time running. When we got home, we asked Sean if "mommy runs fast" and he said "mommy, fast!", and then we said, "does Daddy run fast", and he said, "no!". Ha ha. It is a bit ironic since Dan beat my time with little to no preparation for the race. But oh well, at least someone thinks I am fast! Here is a post race pic of the family.

BIG bite!

Anyone that knows me well, knows that I love reeses cups. Well, today I was eating one of the Easter eggs (those are the best!) and I was sort of hiding from Sean so he wouldn't see me. Well, that plan failed miserably. I swear the boy can hear a wrapper opening a mile away and runs to my side screaming, "ME ME ME!". He then said more politely, "me, please" so I gave him a chance to take a bite. I swear he took the biggest bite I have ever seen! He ate a fourth of my egg in one bite! So...lesson learned. I must go and hide somewhere he cannot find me when eating reeses eggs. If you share with him you lose half your candy!

Sidewalk Chalk is fun!

Sean and I have been spending most of our time together in the afternoon outside. He loves to draw with sidewalk chalk and I take the time to work on shapes and colors with him. He knows what a circle and a star is so far so he has a lot of requests for me to draw those shapes. He also has been counting to 5 consistently. He finally got "one" down. For the longest time he started with "two". Here are some pics of our Mommy and Sean time together each afternoon before Dan gets home.

The downside to sidewalk chalk is you get very dirty!
