Nana and Poppi's House

Annie (and Drew) was in town from Chicago and we were able to celebrate Nana's birthday all together again this year so we headed to Charlotesville after the spring carnival. It was great being together with everyone and we had a great time as usual.

Before and After!

I've posted before about the mass amount of pregnant teachers at my school last year. We've continued our get togethers and enjoy seeing how much the kids have grown and changed since our last meet up. This year, we met at the school carnival and we able to get a quick pic in the very place we took our first group photo. A lot has changed in almost a year!

The oldest is 10 months and the youngest is 7 months. Carter looks like one of the oldest but she is actually the second youngest!

Ridge School Carnival

We had a fun family day on today at my school's annual spring carnival. Luckily though it was not warm, it did not rain until we were getting into the car to go home. Carter and Sean both had a great time!
Enjoying the bouncey house from the outside!
 WHEEEE!
Staying snuggly warm in the stroller. What a cutie!
He ran around for 2 hours non stop!

7.5 month update

Ok, so clearly I am behind on the blog posts and I never did take Carter's 7 month pictures. In my defense, it was Easter and she had an infection in her eye so it didn't work out to do them on the 8th day of the month. Then, the weeks just got away from me! I hope I can take some pics to go with this post but I'll update about her anyway.
*pulls up on everything!
*has two teeth that have broken the skin but aren't really visible yet
*loves eating solid food, especially puffs and yogurt melts
*crawls really fast away from you if you pretend to chase her
*signs: Milk, more, and all done
*is still a joy to be around and smiles and laughs all the time!
*is very silly and blows raspberries in her food because once Dan and Sean laughed at her. She remembers and continues to do it to get a laugh!
*dances

Where has the time gone? How is my sweet girl already 7.5 months?!? I am excited for summer but I don't want to wish this time away and just look forward to the summer when she'll be 10 months..yikes!

The box.

Carter got a new rocking elephant for Easter from my parents and the box has been lingering around my house for days. It has been a snack stand, a house, a fort, a place for animals to be "trapped" and the list goes on. Today, Sean decided that it was a great place to put his sister. So, he enticed with her toys by placing them inside the box and then would shut the lid after she crawled in. She seemed to love playing along with the box. They went on like this for about 45 minutes.

 He finally trapped her!
 She is having fun, too!
 My cuties!
Who knew a box could bring this much entertainment!

A busy Saturday!

We started off our Saturday at the children's museum for a birthday party, Sean had a playdate, and then we had an awesome dinner at Olive Garden. It was a busy but great day!

Cous Cous

Since Carter has been on antibiotics and that in turn is giving her some stomach issues coupled with diaper rash, we figured we try something of more substance than jar baby food. She tried cous cous and loved it! I think she'll be eating table food sooner than Sean as she is very interested in chewing things and feeding herself.

 Hmm...what is this?
She is always trying to get the spoon!

First double wagon ride.

Since the weather was so great we decided to take a walk after dinner. It was our first attempt at a double wagon ride and it was a success. Sean held on to Carter the whole time and she got comfy! So cute!
He is doing a good job holding on to her!
 Love them!
She is all laid back and comfy!

Just Playing.

Now that Carter is more mobile and has a lot of personality Sean and her are able to "play" together a little bit. It is cute to see them interacting or to see her constantly following him where ever he is going!
 Both in the tent!
 Peek-a-boo!

 She is a happy girl!
His box that served many purposes.
 Snuggling with Poppy
Yes, brother is sleeping and I can play with his box!
 She is such a goofball!

Breaking news.....

Carter has a tooth that popped through. Its been swollen for weeks and she has been drooling like crazy and you can finally feel a little tiny tooth that has just barely come through the gums on the bottom left side. In other news, as you probably saw from the video....she learned to dance! 7 months old and has a new tooth and can dance. Where does the time go?!?!

Nama and Poppy got to visit!

My parents were not able to visit last week due to some serious germs floating around the Rettig house. Though Carter still has a runny nose, her pediatrician assured me that she wouldn't be contagious this many days into her cold so my mom and dad headed our way on Friday. Shortly after returning from VB we welcomed Nama and Poppy to our house. Sean was elated to see them! He greeted them at the driveway as soon as he saw them pull up. (was it perhaps because he knows Nama=presents? LOL) Today was pretty low key but because the weather was so nice we were able to spend a good amount of time outside. Sean got to play with his new tee ball set and Carter was able to play on her new rocking elephant which she absolutely loves. After a delicious dinner Nama and Poppy took a walk through the neighborhood with Sean, on his scooter, and Carter in her stroller. It is so great to see them and it keeping Nama's mind off of her final hard core chemo treatment on Monday which is the perfect medicine for her. Glad to have one more day to spend together.

She "dances" now!

First try at the bat

 Thanks for the outfit Nama!
