Outside fun in great weather!

Today we had our second b-party of the weekend, followed by the third for Dan and Sean. What can I say, our kids are just popular! Lol

 Driving the "boat"
 A slide just her size!
I can do it all by myself!

The weather was perfect for an outside party and Sean and Carter had a blast as usual at the Babb's house. They have all sorts of fun things to do!

Fun at the park

We visited the park today to attend a birthday party. The kids had a great time and we all enjoyed the nice cool fall day. It has been summer around here lately, still. But today it was cool and nice! Carter loved the slide the most. She just wanted to go up and down a hundred times!

They are certainly both enjoying their cupcakes!
Two separate pics of them looking at each other
 Time to slide Daddy
 Again!
 and again!
Such a big girl

I'll admit it.

I am a soccer mom. I sat at Sean's soccer game to today in a fold out chair, talked with other soccer moms, cheered for other kids, signed up to bring snacks next week, and supported Sean while he played. He did great. The coach taught them how to play defense and said that once the ball goes to the other side of the field for them to try to block the goal. Sean took this advice literally and got in front of the goal, and sometimes actually in the goal, to block the shots every single time. He did block one! Maybe he'll be a goalie? Either way, he is loving soccer this year and I am loving being a soccer mom. There I said it. Might as well put a bumper sticker on my car.

Sean is such a fast runner!

I can do it myself!

Sometimes I feel like Carter is much older than she actually is. First, she started crawling and walking, really early. Now, she is talking up a storm and has started feeding herself with utensils. She also really prefers you not cut her food into itty bitty pieces (this is obviously harder for Dan!). She also *insists* that she walk out the front door and to the car each time we leave instead of being carried. She just walks right off the steps face first, luckily we hold her hand and catch her. She is just getting too big too fast! It doesn't help that she is truly the size of an 18 month old so people assume she is already older than she is. Slow down girl. Let me know snuggle you, carry you, and feed you...please!?!?

 Oh...not so bad.
 a few minutes later...
Eats Banana chunks instead of little pieces now (shhh don't tell Daddy)
Sean's leftover apple core. poor girl gets all the leftovers..
Spooning the rice into her mouth
Got her own apple this time!
Def knows how to eat a cupcake!

Have to brag. . .

Since all of you out there reading this blog love Carter and Sean already I don't feel so bad about doing a little bragging!

1. Sean sounded out all the words on his new shirt last night (Best Big Bro). He not only knows his letters and sounds but he is able to start blending them together!
2. Carter says words like: butterfly, basketball, downstairs, flowers, banana (nana) and does a ton of animal noises. Elephant being my favorite-trying to get that on tape. Her talking amazes us everyday!
3. Sean gets a "green" for behavior everyday at school. He never gets in trouble at school. ever. His teacher tells me all the time about what a great job he is doing at school!
4. You can just tell Carter is thinking these days. She is smart. She might use it against us...but she knows what is going on and what we are talking about. For instance, she hit Sean the other day and I was very stern with her and used my loud teacher voice. She looked right at me and then bent over and started hitting the floor. Take that mommy...I am still going to hit...just hit the floor! uh oh.
5. Carter tries to help you get her dressed and puts her arm out when you show her a jacket/coat.
6. They are obviously both so cute!

Ok, I'll leave it at that. I am home enjoying my day off (no school today). Sean is at school. Carter is sleeping and so I felt the need to brag a little :o)

Beautiful Day!

It started out as a chilly morning for church but the day turned out to be gorgeous! So, while Daddy made dinner (homemade lasagna with homemade sauce AND pasta...yes amazing!) we took a walk and played outside. There is a "park" next to our house that has rocks and Sean requested to go there. Fun times!

Thanks for the cute outfit Annie!

Carter and Lola.

Carter and Lola have been friend since they were born (and even before that! lol). They also go to the same babysitter and just love each other. They often will give each other hugs during the day! Carter is a busy girl and Lola is relaxed and calm. They are a great pair! They were trying out Lola's new cozy coupe and really getting "cozy" on Lola's birthday! Carter even says Lola's name and it is precious. She is saying it right now as I type and she looks at the picture.

Carter.

I feel the need to write a post just for Carter since she didn't really get a 1 year old update. She is such a smart girl! She talks soo much. Just this weekend we've heard, turtle, butterfly, basketball...amazing! She also is great at following your directions. Like, "carter go get the baby and put her to sleep" and she'll go get it and put it in the baby stroller/carriage. It just amazes us! She is very opinionated and shows how she feels quiet often! She is starting to fight back a little with Sean and certainly will not tolerate him taking away something from her! She is a master escape artist (as we all know Sean was) and she can actually open both of our gates and walk right out of the living room. She has no fear and tries to walk down stairs, off steps, etc. She can climb up onto the furniture now and thinks is hilarious to stand up and walk around (all while Dan runs to catch her...she kind of thinks it is a game).

At her one year check up she was happy and healthy (until they tried to measure her and give her shots!) Height: 31.75 inches which is 98% and weight: 21.5 lbs which is 50%. So, she is still a tall, thin, girl. She actually reacted to her shots this go round and had a bit of a fever and was super cranky for a day or so. She perked up with some motrin and seems to have snapped out of it now.

She sure makes life in this house more interesting! We love you Car!

Our new pet. . .

Dan and Sean found this guy hanging out in our bushes. Dan looked it up and as Sean said, "don't worry mom, it isn't danger-ful." So, I guess we'll leave it alone. But it does look nasty!!

Playtime after church

It was homecoming at church on Sunday so after the service we had a big lunch with everyone and then headed outside to play on the playground. Carter really enjoyed sliding! Sean of course loved it all and was just happy to be free after sitting in church for 1.5 hours! Yes, (barely) he made it and thankfully Carter was playing nicely in the nursery.

She has the cupcake thing down!
Off to play..Sean will lead the way!
 Testing out the slide.
 Wheee!
 Having fun!
So big!

Saturday Shenanigans

Saturday was just a normal weekend day in our house. Soccer, playing, being silly, and having fun!
 Getting into the game!
Frozen tube yogurt...who knew they would be such a treat?
This is why Sean doesn't like her coming into "his" playroom..she wrecks stuff!

 Playing together? Perhaps...
 What a goofball!

Carter's Birthday

We celebrated Carter's bday with lots of fun, family and friends. She started off her day opening a few family presents. Then, all of her friends and family gathered around for her ladybug birthday party. Unfortunately, a huge storm came through and limited our time outside but we all still had a great time. Carter got lots of nice gifts and practically a whole new wardrobe! What a day!
