Snow weekend!

The gang!
As I've blogged about many times before (Been doing the blog for 3 years! WOW!) our close friends have a long standing tradition of visiting Massanuten for the weekend. This year, we drove through a snow storm to get up there and enjoyed some outdoor fun. Well, I stayed home as I was still not up for outdoor sports but everyone else besides Carter and I did some skiing and snow tubing. I got to sit by the fire and watch the snow fall all day. It was a great weekend for all! Sean did awesome at both skiing and tubing. We were so proud of him!
Aunt Lindsey helped Sean learn to ski!

He looks the part!

Way to go!

Daddy and Sean had a great time!

Time for tubing.

Fun times!

Reading

Carter was awfully quiet one afternoon and so I snuck around the corner to see what she was doing in the playroom and I found her reading! So cute!

First Snow day of the season!

We are all excited to hear that we had a snow day! I was already home (still on medical leave) but it was nice to have Dan and the kids home with me. We had to get out to play pretty early because the snow was melting fast. Carter loved the "nooooo" which she called it. I tried to help her by saying, "sssss-snow," and then she said, "sssss--noooo." The kids had a great time sledding around the backyard and playing in the snow. After we came in from playing we had some ho cocoa and some french toast for breakfast. It was a great snow day!
Look at Carter's face! ha ha ah

Whee!

Daddy got a work out in!

They loved it!

Snow!

During dinner it started snowing! We all stared out the window while we ate dinner and then realized we had to go out and enjoy the snow! We all put our snow gear on and went outside for some time to play in the snow flakes!

Gotta love a snow day!

A nice Sunday.

The weather was supposed to be 75 and sunny but somehow we eneded up with 60 and cloudy.  Either way we wanted to get out of the house and get some exercise so after doing some coloring at the table we headed for a stroll around the neighborhood. Sean rode his scooter and Carter "drove" her cozy coupe. She loves that thing!
What?

Sean is great at coloring!

Daddy helped a little!

So serious!

Loves the cozy coupe!!

Out and about

We headed out to do some shopping with Christmas gift cards. Let's be honest, shoe shopping with my two kids is a bit ridiculous. I spent the entire time chasing them around the shoe store while Dan was trying on shoes. He would have been better off going alone! Luckily for us, they are super cute so for whatever disturbance I thought they caused most everyone else thought they were adorable. At the open air mall Carter is just in heaven and runs "free". Sean enjoys throwing pennies into the fountains and we made a fun stop at the candy store. We had a fun afternoon getting out of the house!

Carter is 15 well 16 months.

For obvious reasons we were a little behind on Carter's well 15 month check up and it turned into a well 16 month check up. As usual, she did not enjoy her visit at the Doctors office, from getting measured to looking in her ears to get getting shots...she hates it all!

Here is a little bit about our spunky Carter:
1. Talks all the time-lots of words and can put two words together sometimes
2. Is still super tall and skinny. 33 1/4 inches which is 97% and 23.5 lbs which is 50%.
3. Loves blueberries and bananas the most of any food. She would eat a whole carton of blue berries if we let her, no wonder she is so regular!
4. Loves to eat period. She can put away some food. She eats more in amount at every meal than Sean does but she does work a lot of it off, she is a busy girl!
5. She wants to do everything herself, walk to the car, go up the steps (walking instead of crawling) and feeding herself, especially yogurt. When she doesn't get to do those things, well you can guess what happens!
6. She is a total Daddy's girl. It had started to happen a little before my surgery but then while I was out of commission for a while she definitely started to rely mostly on Dan. Even now that I am back in the picture she still looooves her "da dad" the most. When he takes the trash out of goes to start his car she stands at the door and cries for him! She does love her "ma ma" too as she always wants to come and give me a kiss before she goes to bed. Since I cannot lift her, Dan has to do bath and bedtime stuff with her for now.
7. She is a total clown. She'll do anything for a laugh...mostly putting stuff on her head but you can tell she feeds off of making people laugh at her. No wonder her and Dan get along so well!
8. She loves babies, or "babeeez". Everything is a baby, firefighter men from Sean's lego set are babies, other kids at the mall are babies. She loves watching videos of her or Sean as a baby.

As you can see she is doing very well! She is loving being back with her friends at the babysitters and is learning new things everyday, especially in the area of "how to annoy your older brother". She definitely has that mastered!

KIDS!

When our close knit group of friends from JMU started hanging out there were no kids. Now, there are 10 kids! The oldest is 6 and the youngest is Carter. You can only imagine what our get togethers are like. Luckily, the older kids could spend some time up on the third floor at our friends house. We didn't know what we going on but we could hear the thumping all the way downstairs! What a crew!
