I am so glad that I could spend the day with Sean and his class at field day. We all had a lot of fun and came home hot and exhausted!

Boyscout Camping Trip

We had a busy weekend! Sean's birthday was Friday afternoon and Saturday first thing were on the road for Lake Anna to go camping with his Cub Scout Troop for the night. Our first stop was the Renaissance Faire with his friends. After that went to the "beach" at Lake Anna and played in the water all day. Then the kids did a little fishing before we started our bonfire at our camp site. Unfortunately, a huge storm came through and rained out the rest of our night. We eneded up finding a great restaurant to eat in (instead of cooking over the campfire) and by the time we got home it was dark, all the other boys had left and there was water in our tent. So, we packed it all up in the rain and went home instead of staying. It was only 1 hour or so and the kids fell immediately asleep in the car. They were exhausted from a fun filled day. We may not have gotten to sleep in the tent but we had a great day nonetheless hanging at the campsite.

Sean's 7th Bday Party

When we asked Sean what he wanted to do for his birthday party this year, he told us he wanted to take his friends on a hike. So we had his party at the park near our house and that is what they did. Played at the playground and went on a hike with Dan and Poppy. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the weather was perfect.

Sean's 7th Bday

Whoa, where did the time go? How is Sean 7?!? We are so proud of the nice, well mannered, helpful guy that he is. He does well in school and gets compliments all the time about his behavior. He opened a few presents before school and a few after. He needs that fishing pole for our upcoming camping trip! Before he got to open all those presents and eat cupcakes he had a baseball game first. What a busy day!

New Basement Couch

One of the selling points of our new house was the finished basement. We didn't have any furniture but we knew eventually that we would get some and it would be a great space for family time and one day for our kids to hang as they get older. We found a couch unexpectedly and added it to the room. We also got a TV from my parents that they weren't using and most recently a free TV stand that Dan refinished. The basement is coming along quite nicely! We watch our movies down there each Friday night while we eat our pizza. Same tradition just a new location.

Auntie and Kevin's Wedding Shower

We all traveled down to NC to spend the weekend at Nama and Poppy's house. We had a special reason this time-Auntie and Kevin's Wedding Shower which I was co-hosting with the other bridesmaids. It turned out perfect! Everything cmae together so nicely and everyone had a great time. Grama and Grampa Bliss made the trip down from NY and it was great to see them as well. The kids love getting to spend time with G.G. and Grandpoppy (the names they have given them) and I believe Jenn and Kevin had a wonderful time!

Little League Baseball

Sean decided to give baseball a try this season in addition to boyscouts, and a swim clinic on Sundays, this kept us pretty busy for the spring! He seemed to really enjoy learning how to play baseball. We are proud of him for trying something new.

The Living room update

When we bought our new house, we knew we'd have lots of projects to do! We started by doing some painting. Or I should say, Dan did some painting. He painted and updated the fireplace and mantel and he painted the dark wood trim white (to match the rest of the house). We are pretty happy with how it turned out. One room down....lots more to go!
