Halloween 2017

 This year we had a Princess Leia and Nexo Knight Lego Man. We had our usual neighborhood pizza party to kick off trick or treating with our friends. The kids got more candy than we will ever let them eat and had fun running around the neighborhood with their friends.

JMU Homecoming 2017

 It has been forever since we have been back to JMU for homecoming so we were super excited that we got the chance to visit for the day. We started the day by taking a tour around campus to show the kids around. Some things feel just like they used to and some things seem so different since we have left. The game was really fun and the kids favorite part was throwing the streamers and picking them up and re throwing them again. Dan and I met up with one of my oldest friends from JMU plus some of our Richmond friends to tailgaate and we even got in a tour of the new UREC (the gym) where we all used to work. It was an action packed day of purple and gold FUN!!

Kindergarten Pumpkin Patch

I was lucky enough to get to go to the pumpkin patch with Carter's Kindergarten class. It was my first time being a chaperone on a field trip. Just another bonus of being at the same school together. It was fun being able to spend the day together even if she did ditch me for her friend on the bus ride home :)

Carter Mountain....errrr Chiles Orchard

 Our annual trip to Carter mountain was thwarted this year and was not able to happen. Sickness and weather messed us up so we decided to try a different orchard that was closer to Nana and Poppi's house in case it started raining again. Well, it wasn't exactly a huge success. It was sort of misty and they didn't have the apples we like to pick so we ended up just buying already picked apples from the shop. They did have the same apple cider donuts that we enjoy so at least we did get those! We did get to spend some time together with the whole Rettig gang even if just for a few short hours.
