Christmas Day
Christmas day was a lazy day of hanging out, playing with new toys, snuggling with RJ, taking a walk, eating Christmas dinner, taking family photos and playing a new game. It was a great day! We love getting to spend time with the whole family.
Sean painted his new dinosaurs. He was very precise in his painting! |
Once it stopped raining we went out for a walk, this sign is at the neighbors house |

Christmas in Cville (Christmas #3)
At the Rettig house, we do things a little differently for Christmas morning. We all stay in our PJ's and open gifts and then eat Nana's home made sticky buns, which might be my favorite part! We had a new addition to the family this year which we were all super excited about. RJ didn't open many gifts this year but he'll get the hang of it before next year, for sure! Everyone had a wonderful time opening gifts and then eating sticky buns!

Christmas Eve in Cville-Japanese Style!
We headed home from NC to make a one day pit stop before going to Cville for our third Family Christmas. Since Poppi recently worked in Japan we were able to have a Japanese Christmas eve sushi and all! The kids made their own version of sushi (which I have to say is what I ate...ha ha) while the grown ups ate real sushi before Asian ribs for dinner. Poppi even got them costumes to wear to fit the part! It was a lot of fun!
Ready to roll his sushi |
Carter did hers too! |
Time to eat it! (It was rice krispy treats filled with gummy worms and wrapped in a fruit roll up if anyone wants to try it out with their kids) |
Not exactly proper use of the chop sticks but it'll do. |
YUM! |
Sean is a new found fan of sushi!] |
They loved it! |

Christmas Day Fun
Christmas was amazing and we all got exactly what we wanted (mommy got a
new camera!! YAY!) and so of course we all wanted to play with our new
toys, mommy included!

Unfortunately, not too long after this the stomach virus hit the Bliss House. Nama, then Auntie, and then Poppy and Kevin all came down with it on Christmas Day. Nama had to miss Christmas dinner which was no good. We thought we were germ free when we came down but apparently we were not. When we got back to Richmond, we de-germed our entire house hoping to end this horrible stomach virus streak that we had going. Dan and I got it, the kids got it twice and then all of my family did as well. Ick! Thankfully my grama and grampa made it out of town without getting it--but they had to cut their visit short. Lets hope we we are done with the stomach flu finally!
