The snow melted fast but 18 inches takes a while to disappear. We were able to take advantage of the snow to go sledding with our cousins while visiting Nana and Poppi.

January Snow Storm-Day 3
Ok, it finally stopped snowing! We measured between 15-18 inches. Because of the snow drifts and the wind it was hard to get an accurate measurement but it was a lot of snow! Today, the sun came out and made playing outside so much nicer. The sun kept your face warm. The kids all came over again and we did some more sledding!
We won't be going to school for a while!

January Snow Storm-Day 2
It kept snowing and snowing and the snow was piling up! We kept drying our snow stuff and heading back outside to play. Our yard was the neighborhood sledding area and we had a blast!

January Snow Storm-Day 1
About 5pm on Thursday afternoon we found out school was cancelled due to the projected weather to come Friday during the day. The weather guys got it right this time because the snow started to pile up. It was frigid outside but it looked so pretty and it was coming down so fast, we couldn't stay inside. We ventured out to play and then some neighbors joined us. The perk of having a big hill in your backyard? It is perfect for sledding!

We warmed up with cocoa after we got back in! |
And homemade chocolate chip cookies! |
We were pretty happy with this amount and had no idea how much more was to come! |

Nama's Knee Replacement
I was lucky enough to be able to take off for a week and head home to NC to take care of my mom while she was recovering from double knee replacement surgery. Sean stayed home for a few days with Dan (since he had school) but Carter came with me the whole time. They enjoyed seeing Nama and helping her when they could. Carter did a great job in the hospital, Nama doesn't remember it but she let Carter do her make up!We were also able to Celebrate Poppy's birthday while we were there.

Jumping on the bed
We got a new foam topper for the guest room and it seemed a little stiff. So, we let the kids jump on the bed a bit to break it in.

New Year's Eve
We spent NYE with our close friends house for the night. We had one big sleepover. The kids didn't go to sleep as early as we would have liked, but they eventually passed out. The adults stayed up too late also! But, a nice lazy day the next day did the trick for everyone.
