Happy Birthday Carter!

Carter has been counting down the days for months waiting until her 6th birthday! She tends to hang out with older kids so she is always trying to be older than she is! (that is going to come back to get us one day!) We had a pool party planned for the weekend but a last minute culdesac pizza party was planned for our neighbors a few of her friends from the summer came together. They played outside until 8:30! She didn't even open her presents until almost 9pm! What a day!

Her birthday party the next day was fun, although the weather was a bit chilly!  Before her party though she had her first soccer game with her friends! The water was colder and there was no humidity so there wasn't as much swimming as you would think at a pool but the girls still had a great time. They colored, played at the playground and did karaoke. She had a great birthday!

First day of school 2017

This year was a big first day of school for us! It was our first time when everyone was going to big school! Carter started Kindergarten and Sean the 4th grade. It was a little different in that Carter is going to my school and Sean attends the neighborhood school where we live. This was a tough decision for our family but we decided it was best for Carter to go to my school with me. She doesn't get to ride the bus but she still gets to go to the bus stop with us to see Sean off each day, and then gets to ride to school with me. I walked her down to her classroom for the first day and popped in on her at lunch to see how she was doing. It is things like that, that make my decision easy. I'll be able to experience so much more of her education with her being so close. I know she is going to love school! I hope it'll be a great year for them both!
