We took advantage of the great weather this weekend and spent some time outside. It wasn't great for a pool party, which Sean attended earlier today but it was perfect for hanging out. At dinner, Dan ordered a dessert for us all to share. When it got set down on the table Carter exclaimed, "Carter's BIRTHDAY!" ha ha ha Then she proceeded to sing Happy Birthday the whole way home. Once we got home we played outside and the kids had a nice time.
We woke up to heavy downpours of rain which could have put a damper on his birthday party, but the skies cleared a bit and grass dried a bit so that we were able to utilize our backyard for a bit of time during the party. The whole party was amazing. So many great friends were able to help him celebrate. They played and played inside and out, smashed a pinata, ate a lot of candy, played some more, watched a magic show, ate cupcakes and played some more. Whew! What an afternoon! They all left with their own magic wands to go perform magic with! I could tell by the look on Sean's face that he had an amazing time. He even showed off his own magic skills by performing a trick for his friends! We were so grateful that so many family members and friends were able to help him celebrate. A special thanks to Nama/Poppy for the magician, Auntie for providing cupcakes, and to Nana/Poppa for providing fruit salad and to both Nana and Nama for cleanup duty! We couldn't have done it without our wonderful families continued support!

Sean has shown little interest in riding his bike (or tricycle for that matter). He loves his scooter and chooses that as his mode of transportation. He did pretty well for his first try with the training wheels on.
Sean's 5th birthday was wonderful. He could choose any kind of dinner, home made or out to eat, and he chose to have Panera Mac n Cheese. If you have ever eaten it, you'll know why! YUM! We decided to have another picnic in the living room to eat our dinner which was followed by unwrapping presents. He was so excited about all of his gifts! I have to say his magic kit was a huge success. He has been doing tricks and practicing all week for his b-day party this weekend. What a great birthday and we have his party to look forward to this weekend! (Fingers crossed for no rain!)
