The kids went camping with Nama and Poppy all week while Dan and I ventured back to school for teacher work week. Our plan was to join them Friday at the Campground in Virginia Beach. Well...the weather had other plans. We weren't able to camp as their was a hurricane heading up the coast. We arrived on Sunday morning after everything had dried out and ended up just staying in a hotel on the boardwalk. We were able to have fun at the Aquarium on Sunday with the kids and actually salvaged one last beach day. There was no swimming allowed and it was a bit windy but we did enjoy the day before we had to head home which meant summer was officially over.
After the aquarium we hit up the campground pool for some water fun. Dan even went down the big slide with the kids.
Then we enjoyed a nice campfire and dinner. Not pictured is the hour or so Dan spent playing knockerball at the campground. What fun! (knockerball is putting these large bubble like things around you and bumping in to people to try to knock them down all while not causing any harm due to the cushion of the bubble)
We love the beach and a little wind wasn't going to keep us away!
Our last day of summer. . . . Time to head back to reality!
Bye Beach! We hope to see you again real soon!
