Since we have passes to Busch Gardens we've been going quite frequently but this was the first time that we have visited the Lorikeet Den. What fun!

Momma got an award!
I was chosen by my staff to be nominated for the Christie award, which is an award for those who work in the mental health field or special ed for their dedication to student progress and improvement. I was honored to be chosen. The the kids and Dan joined me for the ceremony as did my principal, Anna Hatfield. She is my biggest supporter at my school.
There is a funny story to share, at dinner after we were all finishing up our meal and I said, "Thanks guys, it really meant a lot to mommy that you all came to watch me get my award." Carter immediately responds with, "well you are NOT welcome because that was the most boring thing EVER!" ha ha ha ha

Sean's Birthday Weekend in NY.
We celebratedSean's birthday weekend in Long Island, Ny with Dan's entire family to celebrate the life of Dan's grandfather who passed away in April. At first, we were disappointed that we would be at a funeral during Sean's birthday but it turned out to be great that we could be with all of Dan's family for Sean's birthday. He got an extra birthday party, with cake, presents and to be with his cousins and family that we rarely get to see. The kids loved flying on the plane and seeing NYC while we drove past. It turned out to be a great weekend and being together with all the family was awesome, just what Dan's grandpa would have wanted.

Happy 9th Birthday Seanie!
Sean had his friends over for his small birthday party after school before we headed out for NY the next morning. The boys had a lot of fun playing the game pie in the face as you can see from the pictures! Then he opened up presents from us and we had pizza and watched one of the new movies that he got for his birthday. We cannot believe he is 9, but he sure is acting his age. He seems so mature lately. He is really growing up and he just seems so much more grown up lately. I like it because I am proud of the kind of kid he is but also sad at the same time.

Davis Field Day
Like every year, I take the day off of school to be with Sean the whole day at his field day and he loves it. I spend the day with his class and help his teacher as much as I can, I go and get us lunch and have a great time getting some one on one time with him. It is a great day for us both because I get to see him in his element at school. I see the same Sean we do at home, sweet, rule following, and considerate, and thoughtful. You can tell he is well liked by his peers and that makes me so happy. I love getting to see him with his buddies. He had a great class this year and I loved spending time with them, it was a great bunch of kids!! It rained on and off so some things were moved inside but that didn't stop the fun. The kids all had a great day!
