No, Diaper first!
We have been encouraging Sean to use the potty when he needs to go #2. He often tells us when he is about to go anyway. Today, I noticed that he seemed like he needed to go and he said, "no, mommy diaper first". Well...I can't argue with that. I guess he isn't quite ready! After he went he then said, "me poopy potty" (because he knows he gets a treat). Sorry bud you've got it a little backwards!!

Wrong one!!
Sean dropped his sippy cup on his toe earlier tonight and of course started crying hysterically. I picked him up immediately and tried to comfort him. I told him I would kiss it to make it feel better (which is what usually works!) and so I grabbed his toes and kissed them. Then he stopped crying for a second to say, "wrong one, mommy!". Oops.

Bless you, Mommy!
As usual, I was having a bit of a sneezing fit earlier today due to my allergies. We have been really working on good manners with Sean so when when he said, "bess you, mommy," unprompted, we were very proud. I just feel like he is so grown up now. You don't realize it when are you with him everyday but all the sudden he got "big". He is able to communicate so well and respond to us when we ask him things. Today, he counted all the way from 1-12 on the stairs without missing a number. 2 days ago he couldnt' do that. Wow, I am so glad I have a place to document his progress because it goes by so fast! We have less than a month until his birthday and we just can't believe it! I turned into that mom who says, "where did the time go?"

Mommy Best Friend!
Recently, Sean started saying, "best friend". So, Dan and I asked him who his best friend is?? First he said, "mommy, best friend" and then next he said, "daddy, best friend". So, we don't actually know who is his "best" friend. But we both think it is super cute!
Today, Dan is off golfing all afternoon so Sean and I had a nice afternoon/evening together. We went to the park and you can see he had a blast. We played and explored on the trail through the woods. He loves finding squirrels and birds and especially "doggies" but only to look at, not to touch!
We also had a nice dinner together without Daddy. It is nice now that we can sit at the table together and actually eat together and have a conversation. He is quite the chatter box these days. He'll tell you all sorts of things! Anyway, I think my heart melted a little when he said, "mommy, best friend" so I'll just believe that it is me and not Dan! ha ha ha

Busy-Busy!!
I haven't been able to post much lately because we have been super busy. I feel like we are always 'going, going, going'. Sean has been so cute lately. He is quite fond of repeating after Dan and I so we have to monitor what we say. Neither of us cuss but will say words that we don't want him to say (stupid, crap, etc.) Today in the car I was talking on the phone and I said, "oh geez" which is pretty common for me to say. Sean repeated it all afternoon. He is consistently putting four words together in a sentence. He is becoming more independent and wants to do everything, "meself".
We've always counted on the stairs and he has picked up counting to 13 (the number of stairs). For a long time all he knew was "two, tree, two". Now he is all about "four, five, six seben, hate, nine, ten, eleben". It is really cute. Sometimes he'll have one and want two of something and he'll say "four" because that means two to him. He starts with one but then skips 2 and 3. Sometimes he just skips 3. So, he is making progress. He isn't able to do all of his colors yet but knows what a "color" is. If you ask him he'll tell you a color, just not the actual color! His manners have improved as well. He always (almost!) says "please" and "thank you" and now says, "no thanks" when he isn't interested in trying something or taking something from you. When he is ready to leave he'll also tell you, "yets go" (lets go).
We've also been trying to teach him that his name is Sean. Often when he sees himself in pictures he'll say its "you" because he hears us say that. So, now we say , "it is Sean!". He calls himself, "Snon". I hope that never changes because it is so cute! Wow, that was a lot but since I haven't posted in a while there was a lot to tell!

Me heavy...
As I am carrying two lunch boxes, a computer bag, a purse, a gym bag, and my coat, Sean looks up and says, "mommy, me up please". So....I am barely able to pick him and then we walk slowly to the door and he then says, "mommy, me heavy".

Coffee or Cough-ey?
Last night we were reading a story to Sean before bed about colors. One of the pages showed a cup of coffee and Sean pointed and said, "hot". Dan told him, "that is coffee". Sean gave him a look and then said, "me, coffee". Dan said, "no, that is what grown ups drink, like your poppy". Sean said over and over again, "me, coffee, me coffee," and Dan responded with, "oh, you drink coffee eh?" Sean said, "yes, me coffee," and then proceeded to do a fake cough a few times and then laugh. Dan and I just burst out laughing. I guess Sean meant, "me, cough-ey". ha ha ha

We Love Boston!
We visited Boston for a long weekend and had an awesome trip. The weather was beautiful and Sean actually did ok on the plane ride to and from. He was more excited about riding the bus to the airport than he was the plane! He also enjoyed riding the train in Boston. Overall, we had a great time visiting Anne (Aunt "Hannie") and Fairweather (Dan's best friend). We came back late last night very tired with lots of great memories and pictures!

Plane or Train?
This morning Sean found his Aunt Annie's car, whom he refers to as "Hannie". Dan reminded him that tomorrow we are actually going to go see Aunt Annie in Boston. Dan said, "Sean tomorrow we are going to ride on an airplane to go to Boston." Sean's face lit up with excitement and replied with, "Train, too?" I guess his preferred travel method isn't an airplane! We'll be boarding our airplane tomorrow afternoon and I'll have a bag of snacks, toys, and treats to bribe him with. Wish us luck! We have big plans for a lot of exciting things and so I am sure I'll have lots of pictures to post when we return. Happy Easter! We'll be celebrating Easter Boston style this year!
