Fruff-froast

Sean's new favorite breakfast item is "fruff-froast". Can you guess? Yep, french toast. Dan bought him the pre-made frozen kind from Trader Joes and they seem to be a hit. He has asked for them two days in a row. "Fruff-froast, pees"

A guy?

Every morning when I leave for work I tell Sean and Dan, "bye guys". Sean has picked up on that and started saying, "bye guys" when we are leaving somewhere. Anyway, last night Dan said he wanted a kiss from his "baby" and Sean said, "no, baby". Dan said, "well if you aren't a baby, then what are you?". Sean responded, "dye" (guy). Dan and I just laughed. He isn't a baby, or a boy, apparently he is a guy!

His first sentence.

Last night Sean and I were cleaning up his cars before bed. Cleaning up has become our new nightly routine. Sometimes, Sean even has to "tuck" his trucks in with a "blankie" (washcloth) so that they can also to go sleep. Anyway, Dan had a few on the couch and tossed them in our general direction. Well, we have a strict no throwing trucks policy so I immediately said, "daddy, don't throw trucks". Sean turned around and looked at Dan and as clear as anything said, "No, Daddy don't throw". We both busted out laughing. Then, he kept saying it over and over again, "daddy, don't throw", "don't throw daddy". We got a good laugh out of that but we were also proud at the same time. That was his first four word combination, I'll call it a sentence! So, if you want to come over and visit, just remember "don't throw!".

Cabin Weekend

As a family, we are so lucky to be blessed with such great friends. Over the past 5 years we have grown close with 4 other couples and their 5 kids. Each year, we have gone to a cabin in the mountains (a large cabin with room for us all!) and have had a blast each time. Each year, the number of kids keeps growing and we are now up to 6 kids between the 5 families. You always hear the saying that "you are like family to me" and that is absolutely true for this group of people. Over the years we have celebrated the birth of each child, we have supported each other through losses, laughed until we cried, and just generally had so much fun. I am not blessed with any real nieces or nephews; however, I consider them to be just like family.

Sean absolutely loves spending time with all of the kids. He looks up to the oldest boy, Chase, and literally "chases" him around all day, copying his every move. Gracyn, "G", is his best bud and partner in crime. Sean also, loves "Ry-ee" (Riley) and Riley pays close attention to him always making him feel special. Ryann is just the sweetest little girl with the best manners. He has a lot to learn from her! Scott one day will be chasing after Sean when Sean is the "big kid". (although right now Scott at 1 year old is as big as Sean at 21 months old!)

The kids had a great time, as did the parents, and here are a few of the pics from our memorable weekend! One great accomplishment for the weekend was a decision on a beach house that will be booked for August. Are we crazy to attempt a week of this? No way!! It always is fun with when you are with friends that are truly like family!

"Weech"

Yesterday, Sean and I got home from school and he immediately asked to sit in his seat. He often confuses "seat", with "eat". So, if he wants to play play-doh, he'll say "eat" so that he can sit in his seat. Well, he said "eat", so I strapped him into the seat. He kept repeating, "weech", over and over again. I thought he was talking about a snack so I pulled out several options for him from the pantry. Nope, not what he wanted. Hmmm...so then I decided to get him out of his seat and let him show me what he meant. He went to the fridge and said it again, "weech", and so I opened the fridge and showed him to see if he could point to it. But then I realized he was pointing to the top of the fridge. I looked up to see the play-doh on the top. DUH! He was saying "reach, mommy". He wanted me to reach and get the play-doh for him. He knew what he was saying all along!

Sean decided eating his dinner was more fun when he was using a big fork. So, here are some pics of him eating his strawberries with a fork. He must have eaten 5 strawberries cut up like that. He kept asking for more.

Sunday night, Valentine's day, Dan and I were eating dinner in the dining room. We both had wine glasses with dinner, which isn't a normal everyday thing for us. Anyway, Sean picks up his sippy cup full of milk and looks at both of us and says, "cheers!". He wanted us to tap his glass to our wine glasses. So, we did! What a funny guy!

Sean had the time of his life at a friends birthday party last night. He has never been to Romp n Roll and he was in heaven! He had so much fun! On the way home last night, about 7:45, he said "mommy, bed". He was so tired!

"geen", "two, and, "b"

Those are three very popular words for Sean, lately. If you ask him what color anything is he says, "geen" (green). If he sees a letter anywhere, from the fridge, on your shirt, in a book, he'll say, "b", because he thinks all letters are "b". Anytime he counts he'll say, "two-two-two-tree-two", sometimes, he'll throw in a "one-two-tree".
We have been working really hard at teaching him to clean up after himself and we sing a song, "clean up, clean up, everybody do your share". Well, out of the blue he started singing it himself. He says "keen oh, keen oh.......body" ha ha ha. At least he has the right idea!
On Thursday, one of our few days back at work Dan started to walk out the door to start the cars and Sean exclaims, "WAIT, Daddy, WAIT!" Friday night while reading stories, he pointed to a rhino and said, "rhino", later in the story he pointed out a beaver and said, "beeber". We were both shocked. He surprises us like that everyday!

It seems Sean has found a new pair of running shoes.

What is new with Sean?

As I have said before, Sean's vocabulary grows each day. Here are a few of my favorite words/phrases for this week:

**"scoos ee" (excuse me) when he burps or needs to get by you
**"tach choo" (thank you)
** "daddy, too?" which is the most popular phrase in our house right now. Sean loves when Daddy plays with him
** "up, pees...pay" (up, please, play) get up and play with me, please?
**"pay-do" Sean loves to play play-doh!
**"oh-meal" (oatmeal) Sean can put away 2 sometimes 3 servings of oatmeal in the morning. Hungry boy!

Sean is to the point where he'll repeat almost anything you say, in his own words. It is really fun to have a conversation with him. He is so observant as well, when we are out and he notices things we don't notice. He knows which cell phone/shoes/coat is mine and which is Dan's.Or he'll hear a truck drive by behind our house and say, "truck". He is just learning so much!

We are finally back to work again after another snow day yesterday. It was a close call and Dan and I both almost drove in during a blizzard (literally, snowing inches and really windy) to get to work against our better judgement. I followed my gut and stay homed not wanting to put myself or Sean (or other drivers) at risk. We were safe though because they closed school anyway. Whew..has mother nature has us confused with Buffalo? More snow projected for next week!

Wow, over the past month we have had 34 inches of snow, hence the several posts of sledding, snowmen, etc. In the past week we have only gone to school once! We have really enjoyed our time home with Sean during this unexpected February vacation. We fear it is ending soon but we did have a blast while it lasted! Today, we went out for some more sledding in the driveway, which Sean enjoyed once more!

He seems to also enjoy eating snow!

Things to do when you are snowed in..again!

1. Play with every single toy you own, twice.
2. Play with "pay-do" (play-doh) every few hours.
3. Look out the window at the snow piling up.(see above picture)
4. Take a long nap (mommy included)
5. Watch a disney movie.
6. Play with toys that you don't get to play with often.
7. Make cookies.

Well, that about sums up our day! I'd say we need to stick to the pre-made cookies! They are easier and taste better! :o)
