First Snow Day of the school year!

As as I posted on facebook earlier, the excitement over a snow day for teachers is about equal to the excitement that children feel for Santa! We found out last night that we had no school today, despite the lack of snow at that moment. We were due for 2-5 inches today and it began falling steadily at 10 am. We only got about 2 but because the temp was so low it stuck immediately making the roads a mess. We stayed in and played all day. While Sean was sleeping, Dan and I watched a few movies. Then, we woke up Sean at 4:20 (he had been sleeping for 3+ hours) so we could go outside and play! We did some sledding down the driveway which was a hit with Sean. Last year he was scared to walk around in the snow (of course there was about 12 inches last time) and this year he was as happy as could be to be rolling around in the snow. I would say our first family snow day of this school year was a success. So successful, we plan to do it all again tomorrow! Christmas break is here!
