So, both of the kids are sick with this horrible virus called Hand, foot, and mouth disease. The but the Dr.'s who named it forgot to leave off one important symptom....BOTTOM! It has been going around Richmond and we just were hoping we could stay clear...guess not! Friday night Carter had a bad night. She cried on and off quite a bit which is rare for her. Saturday she was a little fussy and had a h.o.r.r.i.b.l.e. diaper rash. I am not sure you can even imagine how gross it was. Then after church on Sunday (luckily she didn't go into the nursery) we thought she felt warm though we did not confirm we knew she had a fever. So, off to the Dr. Dan and Carter went on Monday. It was confirmed...she has hand foot and mouth and the Dr. was positive that Sean would also contract it. Smart guy. It was Tuesday morning before it hit Sean but it hit him hard. He had a high fever all day and throughout the night. The highest being 103.7. Thanks to our family on call Dr.: Dr. Annie---we were assured late that night it was ok. It did come down through the night and the next day he seemed to bounce back. Carter has the horrible diaper rash (which continued to get worse if that is even possible!) and sores in her mouth, hands, and feet. Hence the name. Sean doesn't really have any sores and seems to be doing ok at this point. Geez. It was a rough couple of days for the kids and us since we are basically quarantined! It is super contagious so we've limited our exposure to the outside world. Sean even had to miss the rest of his swim lessons this week which can be made up when we get back from vacation. Either way, it probably looks worse than it is for Carter and they both seem to be on the mend now. Thank goodness!!
Look at their pathetic-ness :o(
Poor babies!!
Today was the first time we ever let Carter watch TV. Sean watched a lot of tv today. He didn't have the energy to move off of the couch!
